What started as a collection of tight knit, heartfelt restaurants and bars in the East Village is now blossoming nationwide with several new projects currently underway. That’s where you come in! We are seeking a talented hospitality veteran to assume GM responsibilities forsome of our most exciting locations. While you will still be expected to perform a variety of administrative tasks, many of the traditional admin responsibilities are assumed by our robust Office team. What makes our company unique is that by reducing some of the more mundane and time consuming tasks, our GM’s will be able to focus more on creating magical environments, inspiring staff by building team culture and providing great service that's unforgettable for our guests. In this role you will be responsible for supervising multiple locations and overseeing various teams within our organization. Multi-unit managers work directly with our office team to handle the budget limitations for each location. They recruit and train new staff, review compensation details with the human resources department, respond to employees' concerns, and facilitate training and programs that would maximize the staff's productivity and efficiency. A multi-unit manager must have excellent communication and leadership skills, especially in determining and achieving goals for the team and ensuring the highest customer satisfaction. Our Operations team has worked closely with our managers over the years to learn more about the scope of this position. Because our Operations Team and Management Teams are so well integrated, our managers should never feel overwhelmed. This structure enables us to accomplish much more than one would expect in a multi-unit role. We have broken down the responsibilities into four sectors: Property Management: This includes but is not limited to facility & equipment maintenance issues, closing/opening procedures, weather related services, receiving management and repairs needed. Staff Management: Recruits, hires, reviews, trains and schedules team members for each property and is responsible for their team’s service performance (steps of service), quality and consistency. Health & Hygiene: In addition to being NYS Food Handler certified, you are responsible to ensure that each property meets all the required DOH protocol and passes state & local inspections with the highest letter grade/performance rating and ensure all staff are aware of food allergies and aversions by building systems of awareness and reinforcing health protocols. Administration: Administration includes but is not limited to calendar updates, cash management, meeting metric management, executing ordering, cost analysis, shifted scheduling, takeout/delivery platforms, Resy, guest relations, POS management, inventory reports, create new and reinforce existing SOP’s and recap reports with sales metrics for special events. Company Culture: You are the steward of our company’s culture for each property and are required to designate team leaders who can handle guest relations charismatically and assist them in executing management initiatives by reframing problems as learning opportunities. You must reinforce our Core Values primarily by example and orient your staff through empowerment via team-building exercises and positive reinforcement. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Coordinate the entire restaurant operation. Assist FOH staff with guest concerns, questions and reservation inquiries. Organize and supervise shifts. Monitor compliance with sanitation and safety rules and regulations, control costs and minimize waste. Meet restaurant financial objectives by preparing strategic forecasts, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions, establishing and monitoring financial controls. Developing and implementing strategies to increase average food and beverage checks. Control costs, purchases, and inventory by meeting with Head Chef and Beverage Directors. Review and evaluate usage reports. Control day to day operations by monitoring and scheduling labor, food and supplies, and developing the management team. Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for exploring new opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards. Estimate restaurant needs, place orders of necessary administrative, dry goods, or F&B items as needed. Uphold all DOH guidelines and standards.Ensure food quality and 100% customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations. Work with our Chef in creating new and cost effective menu options. Creating innovative ideas to streamline service and up-selling strategies. Monitor and evaluate levels of service. Direct hiring, supervision, development of all serving FOH staff. Conduct orientation, explain Overthrow Hospitality philosophy, and oversee the training of new employees. Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and conducting performance reviews. Maintain an accurate and up to date plan of restaurant staffing needs in collaboration with the Operations department. Motivate staff to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards. Issue necessary disciplinary documentation and follow disciplinary progress procedure. Maintain a safe, secure and healthy facility environment. Maintain operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patronservice standards; determining and implementing system improvements.
